We knew that Jo was the person we wanted to guide us through our marriage journey as soon as we heard her voice on the phone. Jo introduced herself as “not you average celebrant” – and she was right. That is what we love about her. Jo went above and beyond ‘average’ celebrant ‘duties’ in so many ways:
Jo put in the extra effort to get to know us both as a couple and as individuals. She was always available for a one-on-one chat, and made sure that we met up multiple times before our big day.
Jo made us really think about why we wanted to get married. Through both her anecdotes and the questionnaire she (made very sure!) we thoroughly filled in, we almost unknowingly went through an entire re-evaluation of ourselves and our relationship. This was so refreshing, it made us take a step back & realise that this whole this was about us. We even learned a few things about each other along the way!
Jo explained all the legal process, including when and where documents need to be dealt with, clearly & made sure that we were on top of it.
Jo is a chameleon – she told us that she could be “as filthy rude or as polite & on-script as you want”. She is always herself, and 100% honoured the tone we wanted for our ceremony. Jo charmed the guests, got to know the families, cracked a few jokes to calm Andrew down, described our relationship beautifully and had both of us giggling and enjoying our special moment.
Jo is incredibly professional. She conducted our rehearsal efficiently and took everything under her control when she arrived on the day of the ceremony. Her ‘celebrant’ voice was/is beautiful. We didn’t have to worry about a thing.
Jo won’t let you slack off! When things needed to be completed, she made sure that we had those documents to her. A personal thank you from the bride for being so patient as I (very uncharacteristically) had a difficult time writing my vowels.
Jo has the BIGGEST heart. She cares about every couple she weds, and absolutely loves being a celebrant.
Jo – we cannot thank you enough. Without you helping us through the whole process, we would have been completely lost! Future brides & grooms will be incredibly lucky to have you as their celebrant.

oh gosh where do i start…
joanne is a very easy going celebrant that will take the time to listen to what yoh want from a celebrant and what you want on your day.. my husband and I had no clue where to start and what to expect.. so gave us so many ideas on traditional and non traditional ceremonies. joanne made us feel comfortable with the process and made sure we had evrrything we needed.. she went above and beyond woth calls juat to see how we were going and the family.
I LOVED that at times she was serious and then she would have some giggles with us..

Joanne was a great celebrant for us. She is non-traditional, and extremely accommodating to what we wanted. Our ceremony was fun and light, but serious in all the places it needed to be. Communication before the wedding was also great, and she even made time to meet us in person before the Wedding so we felt at ease with her on the day. If you want something other than your stock standard celebrant- someone with a bit of extra flair and who is not in the least bit boring- get in touch with Jo. She’ll make your ceremony fantastic! We knew within a few seconds of speaking to Joanne that we wanted her to be our celebrant! She has such a fun, energetic personality and made the whole process of organising the ceremony and sorting out all the legal stuff easy and stress free. Although we only met in person on the day of our wedding in Eagle Bay it felt like she had known us for years. She totally understood the sort of people we are and delivered a beautiful relaxed ceremony that celebrated our relationship in the perfect way. We particularly loved how Joanne was able to improvise on the day and weave elements of the ceremony in and out so that they flowed naturally in the moment. Taking care to print out our vows so that grandparents could follow along was a great touch as well. If you’re looking for a unique celebrant, you can’t go wrong with Joanne! Wow Joanne what an incredible wedding!!
I’d recommend you 1,000 times over so I just want to give you justice at how great you are!
We got married 3 months ago now & we’re still on a massive high at how perfect our day turned out.
From the minute I stumbled across Jo’s name on the net I knew we’d found the person to marry us, I didn’t even look any further.
We wanted a fun, upbeat ceremony & something that really engaged with our guests & that’s exactly what we got.
Her fun & charismatic personality really set the tone for the perfect ceremony. She had me & my hubby giggling from the minute we got up at the alter, making us relax instantly & helped ease all of our nerves.
The homework she put in in the lead up to the big day was so special… she genuinely wanted to get to know us as a couple & went above & beyond to find out what we were like which truly showed when we got up there on the day where she worked the crowd talking about our friends & family like she was a long time friend… she had all our guests laughing & encouraged them to cheer & clap through a few funny stories about us & got everyone involved.
One of the things I’m most grateful for was her encouragement to write our own vows, it was something we thought we’d just be able to skip past & do the ‘repeat after me’ thing but instead she suggested that we really have a think about it & put into words what we love about one another. By doing so my partner & I come up with some really special things & it made us think about what we were doing & why we were getting married in the first place… there was so much love in those vows, it was so personal & definitely one of my favourite parts of the day; I still get teary thinking about it.
Our guests were raving about the ceremony afterwards saying how great it was & not boring like most others they’d been too… Even talking to my wedding photographer just the other day she mentioned that Jo was the best celebrant she’d seen out of the countless number of weddings that she’d been a part of.
I really couldn’t recommend Joanne highly enough, she set the perfect tone for a perfect day & we had so much fun.

When Ash and I got engaged we said we wanted our wedding day -ceremony and reception to be us. We wanted it to be personal and fun. We were lucky enough to find Joanne Armstrong to be our celebrant. She really made us reflect on our personalities and having those shine through the ceremony. She encouraged us to be ourselves and remember it was really about us, we wrote our own vows and honestly that is my favourite part of our wedding, it took a little time but Joanne walked us through it helped me really say what was in my heart.
She made the happiest and best day of our lives so easy, she relaxed us, helped us centre and refocus with all the emotion and people around us. Our families and friends kept saying how amazing is Jo she was so wonderful, funny and creative through the ceremony. They made a point of telling us over and over it was the best ceremony’s and celebrant they had experienced.
When Jo asked us for all of the information about us we were a bit apprehensive and unsure, however we trusted the process and it was amazing to really tell our journey and share our special memories and moments with our friends and family. The day was exactly what we wanted a fun, intimate, relaxed and different day. Joanne really was central to helping us achieve this she also made it clear that she was on the journey with Ash and I through our engagement while planning the wedding sharing moments of excitement when my dress arrived when Ash picked his suit, when family was arriving from the uk and of course coaching us with our vows and really there to be a huge support. She played a huge personal part in our beginning and we are so thankful and blessed to have had her by our sides!

What a delivery, especially in how slack we were with communications.
She had the patience of a saint and made my husband and crowd feel at ease with her humor and quick wit. Even though we only had contact on the phone she made you feel like the relationship was an old friend. We had so many comments on the ceremony from guests on how well Joanne did.

I first heard about Joanne on a couple of wedding pages, her name popped up a few times when I was asking for celebrant suggestions so I decided to send her a message.
As soon as I spoke to Jo on the phone I knew she was the celebrant for us, I don’t think
I even asked my husbands opinion haha! Over the year we met up for lunches, she met our kids and she really got to know us because she wanted to, not because it was her job.
The morning of the wedding she was exactly what we needed, we were all a bit nervous but she calmly told us what we needed to know and how it was going to happen.
The ceremony was perfect, people are still talking about it and how it was just so us. It was the perfect balance of happy, funny, serious, silly and it pretty much made everyone cry!

Apart from your amazing partner your celebrant is the key link in making this the most memorable day of your life.For us it was a challenge as we are both not religious people and we wanted someone that would make the day special for us.Joanne was an absolute delight.Following a great chat on the phone we had our first meeting at a coffee shop allowing us to relax and get to know what to expect. Joanne was easy to talk to and was keen on learning about both of us. We had plenty more catch ups.Joanne spent a lot of time finding out exactly what would work and how we wanted everything to flow.Her skills and constant flow of information helped not only to plan the day but also in personalising our vows.

After we have spoken through the phone, we decided to meet on the next day in one of the Caffee in Margaret River. It was such a nice pleasure of meeting her in person, she was indeed lovely and outgoing person. We felt like we had known her for long time as she brought the sense of a friendship even though that was our first-time meeting. She then told us every detail of what we need to prepare for the ceremony. We met her only once before the wedding and everything was arranging perfectly.
We got married on the Valentine’s in Provence Lake Busselton. A lovely wedding ceremony on a Valentine’s Day. She was so competent, committed, and punctual person. What a wonderful wedding, we could not have made it without her effort and commitment.
Joanne was awesome, fun, energetic, and so confident person with positive personality. She made our day so special for the rest of our life journey. Straight away there was all the info I needed beaming across the country by email. Face to face meetings with us both by Skype and endless phone calls to make sure everything was just right. Nothing is too much trouble for Jo and I’m so glad we took her advice and wrote our own vows because it’s one of the many things our guests comment on.
Our beautiful intimate wedding was held in Busselton with a very relaxed hippy vibe at a private house on the beach. The weather was perfect. The ceremony was filled with laughter and fun. Jo even helped us make the official signing fun by suggesting some cheeky poses for the camera.
Every one of our guests have told us how wonderful our day was and how lovely our celebrant was. My hubby and I could not be happier with our choice and we have not only had the most amazing celebrant ever officiate our magical day but we have both gained a dear friend in Joanne.
